Juniper Firewall Engineer II (EMS Network Engineer) – AUSTIN, TX

Our team is looking for a Network Engineer II/Sr. In this role, you will be responsible for configuring and managing the Network Infrastructure that enables communication between LCRA’s mission critical Control Centers and Transmission Substations.

You will be trusted to:

Configure and implement changes in firewalls using established processes.
Plan, Design and architect the network Infrastructure to support the current as well as long term needs of the business.
Support field personnel when deploying new firewalls and troubleshoot if needed during implementation.
Support automation by developing tools, scripts to make process more efficient.

You qualify with:

Six or more years of experience in a technical field, computer science, engineering, or network systems. A degree(s) in computer science, information technology, telecommunications, engineering, or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

You are a great fit with:

– Knowledge of EMS/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) applications or prior work experience in a mission-critical or controls environment.
– Experience designing and/or operating networks.
– Knowledge of network related platforms, technologies, and protocols inclusive of Cisco IOS, Cisco NXOS, Juniper JunOS, OSPF, BGP, Ipsec, Network Security, Juniper Firewall Cluster, Juniper virtual chassis, Cisco Nexus VDC, Cisco Firepower IDS/IPS, Splunk SIEM, Monitoring tool.
– Juniper JNCIS/IP security/firewall and Cisco CCNP Routing-switching certificates highly preferred
– Network Automation using Ansible/Python

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $82,000.00 – $116,000.00 per year
