Job Detail

The Audio-Visual Lead Installer role is a key member of our AV Services Practice reporting to the Practice Director. This person will be considered a key member of the team with the ability to execute with high quality, and a focus on customer satisfaction. The Lead Installer will install audio/visual/control systems. This position is also responsible for directly interfacing with clients, commissioning installed systems and training end users on the operation of them. The person in this role should be highly skilled in AV integration and can lead other team members, communicate with all levels of internal and external stakeholders (both written and verbally) and can work in a deadline oriented, fast paced, demanding environment. Hourly plus bonus, full benefits, PTO, company service vehicle, company provided training, and lodging and per diem for work-related travel.

  • Solution Delivery – responsible for the success of customer solutions on site for install/setup for audio, video, and controls systems. Coordinate with internal team members regarding project installation and service components.
  • Technical Acumen – leverage your experience and training to create a complete, functional, and quality installation.
  • Ability to rack equipment, terminate cables, connect and set up equipment according to best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret A/V, low voltage, electrical, and architectural construction drawings.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with uploading program code, configuring DSPs and other devices.
  • Must have experience with onsite materials management, storage, and security.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow through new certifications, product training, or individual initiative.
  • Team management and leadership.
  • Ability to lead an installation team to organize, execute, and manage time effectively.
  • Mentor lower-level techs regarding workmanship, training, and productivity.
  • Lead crews ranging from 2-10 installation technicians.
  • Problem Management with the ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner leveraging all available resources to be successful.
  • Quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate a quality and customer mindset the builds confidence with the customer.
  • Commission, test, and troubleshoot new and existing installations to ensure conformity with industry standards.
  • Ensure equipment is installed according to design intent, shop drawings, and specifications.
  • Commercial management
  • Manage to the plan as reasonably practical to make the best use of company and customers’ time.
  • Communicate and coordinate with multiple levels of stakeholders involved with projects of any size and complexity.
  • Perform service calls to existing systems following manufacturers troubleshooting processes and equipment return policies.

Requirements

  • Currently reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area.
  • Must be open to travel (approximately 25-30%; primarily within Texas).
  • Experience with market leading vendors such as Crestron, QSC, Atlona, BrightSign, Biamp, Samsung, Extron, and/or Kramer.
  • At least 5 years’ experience installing Audio/Video and Control Systems in commercial and higher educational settings.
  • Must be able to pass a background drug screening and criminal history background check.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to operate scissor lifts, boom lifts, and powder actuated tools.
  • CTS and/or CTS-I certification is preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Standing, stooping and bending for long or extended periods of time.
  • Ability to climb ladders of all sizes.
  • Lift and or transport moderately heavy equipment up to 70 pounds.

Preferred Certifications

  • CTS / CTS-I.
  • Crestron certification.
  • QSC Q-sys / certification.
  • Additional certifications or formal training by manufacturers.
