Low Voltage Cable Technician

• Applicant must be able to pass a Level II background check, and possess a valid Florida Drivers License.
• Applicant must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in installing, trouble shooting, and repairing structured fiber optic and copper cabling systems.
• Applicant must have prior experience in analyzing schematics, prints, or drawings for the purpose of installing structured cabling systems.
• Applicant must have intimate knowledge of BISCI & TIA/EIA codes associated with structured cabling systems.
• Applicant must have the ability to lead/manage other team members.
• Applicant must be proficient in use of personal computers.
• Applicant must have experience and working knowledge in assembly and installation of cable tray and head end closet build out.
• Applicant must have working knowledge and experience with equipment used for structured cabling systems testing and fusion splicing, such as an OTDR, fiber optic fusion splicer, Fluke DTX1800 &/Or DSX5000 tester, etc…
• Applicant must have the ability to manage installation and communicate verbally and in writing with management and customers.
• Applicant must have the ability to read manuals, diagnose problems, follow trouble shooting steps, and perform installations of new equipment.
• Applicant must have the ability to work from a ladder, scaffolding, and/or lift equipment, as required.
• Applicant must have the ability to lift/move equipment and tools weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Other low voltage experience including intrusion, CCTV, telecom, access control, and AV/Paging, Valcom is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 – $35.00 per hour
