Commercial Low Voltage Technician Tech Needed (Glendale)

Low voltage prestigious commercial cabling contractor is hiring experienced technicians.

POSITION FOR EXPERIENCED TECHNICIANS ONLY – This person will perform communications cabling tasks and possibly lead/manage crew of 2-6 technicians.

SKILL/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

• 2+ Years Experience running projects in the Communications Cabling Industry
• Installation of MC cabling in a new construction setting
• Demonstrate a clear knowledge of codes and standards
• Ability to complete & submit accurate paper work which tracks work progress, personal timesheets and other related documents
• Communicate with strong written and verbal skills
• Maintain a positive attitude and professional dress & demeanor

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Build out telecommunications closetsInstall cable support systems which consist of cable tray, j-hooks and ladder tray

• Install cat 6 horizontal station cable, backbone cable, fiber optic cable, inner duct and Fire Alarm

· Install special systems (security & CCTV) and fire alarm cable

· Terminate cat 6 horizontal 4-pair work-area outlet (modular connector), and optical fiber (multi-mode, single-mode, LC)

· Perform fiber splicing (fusion or mechanical)

· Perform copper cable testing (UTP, coax), optical fiber testing

· Perform both copper and optical fiber troubleshooting

· Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools

· Must have *Physical ability to pick up 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, climb ladders, use stairs, reach, bend, lift, kneel, crawl, stand, walk great distances, and carry material

· Ability to work overtime as needed*Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines CERTIFICATIONS (A huge PLUS, but not a requirement) BICSI Certified Technician — Installer 1 or 2, Copper and/or Fiber Other Manufacturer’s Certifications TOOLS: Owns all required communications technician hand tools, keeps them in good operating condition, and knows how to use them. OTHER INFORMATION: Must have RELIABLE transportation to and from the jobsites. Must have a cell phone

· Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, as well as random drug tests

· Must be a licensed driver in the state of Arizona

· Must be fluent in reading, writing and speaking the English language.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $35.00 per hour
