Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division, has an opening for a Manager Engineering 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.

These are highly dynamic, interactive positions. You will interact with numerous stakeholders including program management, systems engineering, flight hardware design engineers and logistical support services. Outstanding organizational and leadership skills are required to succeed in these roles.

The selected candidate will be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of Manufacturing, Integration & Test Organizations, Operations, Process Improvement, Value Stream Mapping, Functional Management experience, experience leading diverse support teams through change, and will have a vision for how they will promote team engagement.

Essential Functions:

The responsibilities for this job include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute strategy in support of Materials, Process, Environmental Test & Logistics Center and the broader SSSD Operations and Engineering functions

  • Lead integrated teams and drive efficiencies

  • Resolve technical or operational problems, and meet established schedules

  • Maintain the technical integrity and performance for Manufacturing, Integration & Test Support teams

  • Develop and manage staffing plans, and performance standards

  • Gather and report on performance metrics

  • Risk, Issue, and Opportunity Management

  • Support the program office with process improvement, implementation, and opportunities

  • Conduct regular briefing to Program, Functional, Operations and Engineering management

  • Build and maintain a culture that empowers employees, establishes personal and team accountability, motivates team performance, encourages development, and supports innovation

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline plus 9 years of engineering experience OR Master of Science Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline plus 7 years of engineering experience.

  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.

  • Demonstrated experience leading functional homeroom teams, program execution, or functional initiatives.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance OR SCI access.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance.

  • Excellent leadership, motivational, and communications skills.

  • Experience leading large teams.

  • Experience driving high-visibility functional initiatives

Salary Range: $155,400 USD – $233,200 USD
Employees be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
