As a Market Engagement Lead your main responsibilities would be:

• Responsible for managing the overall approach and delivery of BDUK’s engagement with the market and market interest and feedback from the procurements
• Work closely with the Analysis & Evaluation and Strategy teams to manage the pipeline of procurements with the market
• Manage pre procurement market engagement activities to gauge interest in upcoming opportunities and market capacity
• Manage post procurement market engagement activities to get feedback on the process, reasons for no bids and lessons learnt
• Work with the Procurement & Evaluation Managers in the ongoing quarterly market engagement events with qualified suppliers and with releasing the requirements to the market
• Manage and run ad hoc market engagement events, working closely with the Engagement function
• Feedback market intel from pre and post procurement events to help shape the procurement pipeline, approach to market, ITT and contract documentation and contract management approach
• Work with the SRM team to:
• Monitor activity of suppliers in the market including new entrants, setting up meetings to encourage new entrants to support the programme
• Conduct regular assessments of UK and international gigabit capable infrastructure build and build plans
• Conduct regular assessments and reviews of the UK gigabit capable supply chain including supply chain capacity and new entrants to the market, through the use of 3rd party specialists and the accumulation of market intelligence over the procurements
• Review business plans submitted by suppliers on their intended commercial build in rural areas and assess their credibility (as part of OMR process), working with the State aid Manager

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience in delivering a similar market engagement role
• In depth knowledge of PCR procurement regulations
• Previous experience of contract and supplier management
• Excellent organisation skills
• Experience in delivering market engagement events, RFIs and effective communications

Desirables

• Knowledge of the telecommunication market
• Knowledge of regulated environments
