The Marketing Project Manager is the glue that holds the entire project together, facilitating the exchange of information between our partners, reviewers, marketing consultants and production. They are responsible for the day-to-day business process and project management activities. Key roles and responsibilities include client request management, ongoing internal and external resource coordination and challenge resolution, and oversight of and alignment with long-term project goals and company objectives. This job description is not intended to include all duties and responsibilities. Additional tasks be requested of team members that or not relate directly to the primary role, as business needs dictate.

To succeed in this role, the Marketing Project Manager should have excellent interpersonal and time management skills, as they will be collaborating with internal and external teams to deliver results on deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Marketing Consultant throughout life of campaign
  • Partner with POD Leader in overall management of POD work assignments
  • Create and maintain Project Plans, including Timeline, Roles & Responsibilities, project and task status
  • Identify, communicate and escalate concerns and risks
  • Take initiative in moving projects along, finding answers
  • Traffic Management: manage overall project timelines
  • Content Routing and approvals: route all content through each phase to SMEs, reviewers and legal for approval
  • Own status meetings with team and business partners (agenda, schedule & lead meetings, identify and follow-up action items)
  • Create and maintain comprehensive campaign and project documentation, plans, change logs and reports
  • Working fluently in various project management, production, and storefront platforms to prepare and execute tactics
  • Ensure all projects are proofread, review final edits and assess final quality for all material before finalizing
  • Manage production and distribution of communications
  • Provide and track general campaign analytics (open rates, etc.)
  • Manage budgets as necessary
  • Coordinate freelance staff and agency partners (as needed)
  • Part of process design and project implementation teams in process improvement activities. Diagnose process improvement opportunities and develop solutions using principles of process excellence and related tools
  • Assist team members through proper processes

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience on a project management team or similar role
  • 3+ years of experience organizing project meetings, tracking, planning and scheduling
  • Experience with the creative process
  • Experience preparing and interpreting schedules, strategies and step-by-step action plans
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g. Workfront)
  • Account management experience, with partnership management and operational optimization
  • Experience leading multiple demanding projects, major activities and clients concurrently
  • Demonstrate flexibility, as required by business demands
  • Experience working in high production fast paced environment with changing priorities

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only : The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
