Network Administrator

Description:

Essential Functions: • All expectations described in the job description’s essential functions are necessary to be successful in this role, performed with or without a reasonable accommodation. • Deliver high level network infrastructure monitoring and troubleshooting, support, and sustainability of both local and wide-area designs • Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies, defining and monitoring access. • Manage firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network uptime, performance, and security. • Maximize network by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating on network optimization. • Assist in design and testing of network infrastructure and related systems. • Build and improve automation tools to streamline day-to-day operations. • Reporting network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information; managing projects. • Provide connectivity troubleshooting and support in response to Tier 1 service requests. • Uses knowledge and judgment to address unexpected failure of hardware, software, or communication lines. • Works independently to perform tasks with a high level of accountability. • Works with all employees, software, hardware, telecommunication vendors, and occasionally external customers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Strong technical experience in LAN/WAN network design and deployment. Cisco Networking software, routers, and switches required; some knowledge of IP Telephony is preferred. Working knowledge of LAN/WAN, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and Cisco Wireless. Strong understanding of Active Directory, DNS, Firewall, VPN, and Microsoft Windows Server.
