Job Title:
Network Administrator


Reporting to: Infrastructure Manager


Job Summary:

Network Administrator performs professional duties pertaining to the analysis, development, maintenance, and administration of computer networks. Network Administrator installs, configures, and maintains networking equipment, such as routers and switches. Network Administrator implements network configurations; analyzes network systems/structures for stable and reliable connectivity; monitors network traffic, performance, and security; investigates, analyzes, and resolves network-related problems; recommends network changes to enhance services.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes, maintains, and administers network infrastructures and systems; implements network hardware/software configurations including VOIP, wireless equipment, hubs, switches, routers, and cabling.
  • Monitors network and server traffic, performance and security using a variety of evaluation tools; analyzes traffic patterns; checks network logs to detect intruders; writes scripts to support network monitoring and network administration tasks.
  • Researches and responds to customer complaints regarding network functionality; investigates, analyzes, and resolves a wide variety of network-related problems; troubleshoots network failures and telecommunication problems and re-establishes connectivity to ensure business continuity.
  • Prepares technical documentation and procedural manuals including documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school or GED
  • Three (3) years’ experience
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass the Sandy Springs Police department background check
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Must successfully pass post-offer criminal background check and drug screen.


Skills Needed

  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and network access control list (ACL)
  • Proven network engineering, network operations, and network performance analysis skills
  • Hands-on technical troubleshooting capabilities
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of computing infrastructures
  • Previous experience with Cisco switches and routers required
  • Experienced with network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds


Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt position. The Network Administrator hours Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm with up to 1 day per week telework after initial training. Additional hours may be required to support Emergency Operations and periodic maintenance.
