Network Cable Technician

Technical Specialties, Inc., (TSpec) is an InformationTechnology, Consulting, and Low Voltage Company headquartered in Lanham,Maryland. We provide technical support solutions to Commercial, Federal, State, and local government sectors.

The Cabling Division of Technical Specialties, Inc., (TSpec) is currently seeking highly motivated self-starters to join our team in a low voltage cabling engineer capacity.

We are seeking candidates with experience maintaining and installing all types of copper and fiber low voltage systems. Contract employees will be transitioned to full time as positions become available.

Position duties:

• Install, terminate, test, label, and document horizontal, backbone and other cables.
• Dress and route cable into telecommunications closet, modular furniture and other work areas.
• Buildout MDF’s and IDF’s.
• Cable Management
• Installation of AV Equipment
• Installation of Wireless Access Points
• Cable testing and assessment surveys

Experience Required:

1. Familiar with Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a installation, labeling and testing.
2. Ability to terminate RJ45 jacks and Patch Panels
3. Ability to work independently in commercial and construction environments.
4. Ability to test and certify cables with Fluke tester
5. Ability to read floor plans

Pay: $52,000.00 – $58,240.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Night shift
• Overtime
• Weekend availability

Experience:

• relevant: 2 years (Preferred)
• network cabling: 2 years (Preferred)
