Network Engineer

Pay rate: $48.00 to $50.00/hr on W2

Job Description:

Provide Direct Network Engineering, Management, and Support for Daily Operations of Plant Environment. Responsible for the Analysis, Configuration, and Troubleshooting of company Network Infrastructure and Services, including Switches, Routers, LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi. Provide and Develop Technical Network Standards and Produce Documentation for the Installation, Implementation, and Management of the Network Infrastructure to be Shared at a Regional Level. Provide Leadership, Technical Training, Support and Guidance to Network Team Members in the performance of their duties, projects, or tasks.

Responsibilities:

· Support and maintain wired and wireless network infrastructure, including configuration, backup, and recovery (both scheduled and emergency)

· Implement and maintain standards and best practices for installation, maintenance, and upgrade of wired and wireless network infrastructure design, and support

· Enforce standards for network equipment and installations

· Respond to downtime events for production, including hardware and software troubleshooting, diagnosis.

· Provide for On-Call Support 24X7X365 for after-hours, weekend, and holiday support issues

· Provide monitoring and emergency response to alerts from network equipment

· Act as escalation point and technical lead for network Techs II and I

· Perform root cause analysis and report findings and countermeasures to IT management

· Perform trending and forecast network growth

· Analyze and optimize network communications and survey and assess network performance

· Manage upgrades and periodic replacement of network components

· Review, analyze, and select network tools, equipment, procedures, and standards

· Review, design, and implement solutions for our customers to meet their requirements

· Manage inventory of network addressing, documentation, equipment, guidelines, best

· Manage projects; scheduling, job assignment, and status reporting for all Site

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

The minimum acceptable qualifications, experience, and skills for this job:

· Bachelor’s Degree in CIS and or 6+ years Cisco enterprise wired networking experience, including network design and optimization responsibilities

· 5+ years of network and staff management experience

· 3-5 years of project implementation management experience

· 2+ years of wireless experience including design layout, implementation, and validation

· Cisco CCNA or higher-level experience

· Knowledge of enterprise complex Network Routing, Switching, Data Centers and Access Distribution technologies.

· Experience with testing tools such as Fluke, Optiview, Wireshark, Air-Magnet, Ekahau, or Spectrum Analyzer

· Troubleshooting experience with hardware, IOS software, wired, wireless, fiber-optic and copper cabling and installations

· Experience with monitoring tools such as Orion, Nagios, Cisco Prime

· Strong understanding of BICSI, Fire, Building and Safety Code and Regulations

· Strong design and presentation skills using tools such as AutoCAD, Visio, MS Project

· Strong communication/people skills

· Understanding of HVAC designs, installations, air-flow, and heat dissipation and mitigation for Data Centers and Network Racks

· Understanding of electrical requirements for low voltage, 120v, 208/240 for network installations and redundancy

· Understanding of UPS architectures, manufactures, and support requirements for network equipment
