Network Engineer

Summary:

The Network Engineer reports to the Vice President of Network Operations and Security and is responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting firewalls to ensure network security. They handle the infrastructure design and administration. and are also responsible for procuring equipment like routers or switches, which provides the best possible efficiency for our IT infrastructure. This position will require travel to our practices.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Design (50%)
  • Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks. (Cisco, Meraki, SonicWall)
  • Continual evaluation of network design to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Participate in M&A activities related to network integration
• Infrastructure Administration (50%)
  • Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and network based DHCP
  • Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security (Meraki, SonicWall)
  • Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Data Integrity (security patches, hardware monitoring)
    • Deploy software as needed to devices as required
    • Corporate security
      • Manage security on corporate firewall and edge devices. (Meraki, SonicWall)
      • Collaborate with HIPAA Security Officer to ensure compliance
      • Administer B2B and Remote Access VPNs. (Meraki, SonicWall).
  • Manage corporate WAN
    • Monitor utilization and downtime.
    • Configure new WAN links as needed
  • Manage Corporate Telecommunications Data and Voice Circuits
  • Manage company DNS, Certificates, and Domain Names

Essential Qualifications:

Education/Certifications

• Bachelor Degree in related field preferred
• CCNP/CCVP Preferred
• ECMS Certification Preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• 2-3 years hands-on Dell SonicWall configuration and administration
• 3-4 years hands-on Cisco Meraki configuration and administration
• 4 years hands-on Cisco router/switch setup and configuration (Meraki)
• 3-4 years’ experience with Meraki firewall or similar
• Experience with SDWAN configuration and administration
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent team player.
• Be able to work with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex network issues
