Responsibilities:

Our IT Modernization Team supports federal agency client needs focused on innovation and transformation of IT networks. Team members work collaboratively with other Noblis and agency network engineers and architects to design and implement next generation architectures focused on software-defined and cloud-based systems. Modernized architectures are critical to agency network survivability, reliability, and security. Noblis is dedicated to ensuring that agencies are prepared to take the next step and to support them through the evolution of their networks.

The Network Engineer will be responsible for providing technical analysis, solution development, and managing network engineering projects at a large government agency.

  • Provide technical analysis and make recommendations on network issues and agency modernization efforts
  • Efficiency with cloud and software defined networking is required
  • Organize, define, and assist with project deliverables
  • Manage project tasks to positively influence technological and financial outcomes
  • Use project management methodologies to push projects to completion
  • Must be experienced with complex telecommunications and enterprise networks; familiarity with telecommunications billing is a plus
  • Must be able to multitask between different projects
  • Demonstrate strong communications skills; able to liaise between different departments
  • Demonstrate strong presentation skills; contribute to a power point deck or technical document and present to upper management
  • Willing to learn and work on self-growth and development; stay abreast of latest telecommunications and networking technologies

***this position will be on a hybrid schedule only going to the office as needed for meetings – Noblis HQ in Reston, VA or customer site (less often) in New Carrollton, MD)***

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 5 years of experience, or PhD with 3 years of experience
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Public Trust at the Moderate-level

Desired:

  • Ideal candidate will have a technical certification such as with Cisco, AWS, Azure, CompTIA, or ITIL
  • Ideal candidate will have project management experience
  • Ideal candidate will have experience with a carrier

Client Engagement: • Begin developing relationships one level up and two levels down. • Identify and support opportunities to expand project scope beyond current deliverable and actively share information about clients’ emerging support needs and trends with team members and management. • Participate on proposals, providing technical expertise in network engineering.
