Our amazing client is seeking a Network Operations Center Technician. Located in the Valley/ Los Angeles our client is an ISP with a private state-of-the-art fiber/wireless network, providing provide reliable guaranteed-speed Internet and Communication services with the highest levels of customer care to customers across residential buildings, commercial properties, student housing developments, film studios, hotels, and incredible live events. The duties and responsibilities of the NOC Engineer are below but are not limited to the following:
- Monitor the network for outages and performance issues
- Oversee all production networks, servers, and services
- Maintain network security systems, and processes and prepare documentation for all work
- Manage commercial customer(s) and outage escalations
- Design and prepare updates for all trouble/maintenance tickets or tasks utilizing various troubleshooting programs and systems
- Oversee and manage Zabbix, Solar Winds, The Dude, and other various tools or monitoring systems
- Supervise and administer rollout process and procedure(s) for outages
- Configuration of equipment for deployment
- Determine and manage the architectural system, provide upgrade(s) and ensure completion of all operational documents
- Prepare status reports and upkeep of schedule routing system maintenance
- Administer DNS/IP changes and designs
- Maintain direct communication with engineering, call center, vendors, and providers alike
- Take ownership of unique projects and tasks as needed
- Development and implementation of new processes to improve efficiency within current policies and procedures
Required Qualifications :
Skills we are seeking for this Network Operation Center Technician
- A degree in Computer Science is a plus but not required
- 5+ years of experience in a Telecommunications environment
- Understanding of networking concepts such as Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, ICMP, IPv4/6
- Ability to perform operations utilizing command prompt and Secure Socket Shell
- Desired (Not Required) Certifications: Network+, CCNA, CWNA, Security+, A+
- Experience working with the following vendors/platforms, and experience in these systems is a plus: Cisco, Nexus, Juniper, Brocade, Mikrotik, Ruckus, RG Nets, Ubiquiti, Siklu
- Analytical, curious mindset and the ability to learn quickly and adapt
- Proficient time management skills and ability to work independently and with a team
- Ability to create sustainable processes and procedures
- Strong communication, written, and documentation skills
- Schedule flexibility is fundamental as this group operates 24/7/365 (3 shifts all ON SITE))
