Network Operations Engineer (Telecommunications)

Locus (Recruitment Firm) is recruiting for Network Operations Engineers for our client in the Denver, CO area.

Position: NOC Engineer-(Telecommunications)

Estimated Length of Contract: 6-12 month contract-to-hire

Pay Rate: $38-42/hour and Convert around $80-88k

Location: Remote

Top skills: Layer’s 1-3 – optical, IP, Ethernet. Mostly Cisco, some Juniper, Ciena, Infinera,

Primary Responsibilities:

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• 3+ years related experience (or combination of education and experience)
• 3+ years of experience in the troubleshooting and repair of Ethernet & IP networks
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Great customer service skills
• Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio
• Experience with trouble ticketing and circuit inventory software
• Knowledge of the following Transmission and TCP/IP standard telecommunication practices and technologies:
• Ethernet Switching
• IP Routing
• BGP
• MPLS
• Spanning Tree
• Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM)
• Domain Name Servers (DMS)
• RFC2544 Ethernet Testing
