Network Security Engineer

The Security Engineer is responsible for overseeing the implementation and support of the security products and services as well as the security protocols on deployed equipment within Telesystem.
Investigates and utilizes new technologies and processes to enhance security capabilities and implement improvements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a major in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or other related technical degree – Preferred
• Five (5) years experience in managing software systems and/or IP networks – Required
• Specific Experience in security systems and network security and/or knowledge of – Required:
• Security threats and countermeasures
• Security tools
• Basic Network design and infrastructure
• Firewall operation and management best practices
• Endpoint management and best practices
• TCP/IP stack
• Application security best practices

• Demonstrable experience in project management. – Preferred
• Working knowledge of Juniper and Cisco switches and routers – Required
• Any Telesystem security deployed platform certification -Required
• Can be obtained after hire

• Certifications (any): 1 or more required
• CISSP – Certified Information System Security Professional
• CISA – Certified Information Systems Auditor
• PCI DSS/QSA – Payment Card industry Data Security Standard
• Cisco – with specialization in Cyber operations or security
• Palo Alto Accredited Configuration Engineer (ACE)
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) current Windows Server
• CEH – Certified Ethical Hacker
• CISM – Certified Information Security Manager
• GSEC – GIAC Security Essentials
• Junos Security Certification – (EX.) JNCIS-SEC, JNCIP-SEC or JNCIE-SEC
