General Summary:

The Network Technician is a lead technician role that provides leadership and installation services across multiple platforms in support of many forms of communications facilities and networks. Technical responsibilities include working independently and leading a team to install and troubleshoot networks with various pieces of electronic gear and cabling systems to support our customers. This role is 100% travel. All travel expenses paid, prearranged, and booked by the company.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Independently lead and complete fiber optic jumper and electronic installation activities
  • Independently lead and complete network equipment installation activities including DC power
  • Independently lead and complete circuit turnup and validation
  • Work autonomously and safely in a live network environment
  • Work with customer NOC to identify, troubleshoot and mitigate issues
  • Review, update, augment, and provide job documentation
  • Testing and installing fiber jumpers, ethernet, and coax
  • Ability to use a computer for network configuration activities
  • MS Office and basic computer skills
  • Quality assurance
  • Working as a team
  • 100% Travel


Desired Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:

  • Knowledge of cable TV systems, head-ends and equipment
  • Knowledge of Telco (ILEC) central offices, LDPOP, MTSO and equipment
  • Basic knowledge of secondary DC Power


Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years field network installation and troubleshooting experience
  • 5+ years working with documentation on technical jobs (JCR, SOW, etc.)
  • 3+ years of leading work/jobs in the field


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 100lbs
  • Must be able to pass drug screening
