Network Technician

Summary: As a Network Technician, you will assist with many aspects, adding to the scope and quality of the services of the current network. The Network Tech will analyze, design, construct, manage, and monitor new fiber paths. In this hybrid position the Network Technician will work from home when the schedule permits, go into the office when needed, and be in the field to test and troubleshoot the network.

Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 / year

Work Location: Salisbury, Maryland

What you will do:

• Installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of switches, cables, and other telecommunications equipment in the field to ensure optimum network usage
• Network design, development and implementation
• Provision switches
• Ensure compliance to customer specifications and company requirements
• Coordinate the scheduling of installation and maintenance services
• Provide and evaluate training for installation and maintenance technicians
• Ensure that project / department milestones / goals are met and adhering to approved budgets

Qualification you need to succeed:
Education: Bachelor’s degree

Experience: Level Mid-level

• 5+ years Hands-on experience engineering, testing and deploying networks on Optical Networking platforms
• Experience with Ciena and Alcatel-Lucent hardware preferred
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
• Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions

Shift & Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
