Kelly® Technology is seeking 4 Network/Telecommunications Technicians for a 6 month contract position at a Fortune 500 client in New Roads, LA. Candidates will be working onsite in New Roads traveling to different sites. Overview

This client is an industry-leading electric company.

The Telecommunications Technician is a career level professional with advanced knowledge and experience of telecommunication and networking who participates in the support of Client’s telecommunications environment. Independently performs tests, installations, maintenance, adjustments, minor designs and calibration on telecommunications and network equipment in the shop and field. Also provides related technical support to the business areas. Supports the development and coaching of entry level technicians.

Responsibilities:

• Contributes value and provides technical execution (with minimal or no supervision) of defined activities to support the delivery of telecommunications initiatives to achieve efficiency, effectiveness and innovation objectives.
• Conducts research, identification and evaluation of telecommunications technology to increase benefits of such technology to the company to meet corporate objectives.
• Tests, adjusts and repairs all telecommunications equipment to meet specifications and obtain a high level of reliability.
• Installs and connects telecommunications equipment in a neat, accurate and orderly manner to preserve a high degree of reliability.
• Submits drawings and records as necessary to maintain up to date records of telecommunications installations.
• Acquires price comparisons, orders and receives material, verifies packing lists to sustain sufficient spare parts to retain high system reliability.
• Serve as a member of the 24/7 call out team which responds to any problems or discrepancies in the operation or condition of field telecommunications equipment to ensure timely corrective action is taken when needed.
• Takes initiative to help less experienced team members develop their skills and knowledge.
• Works closely as a telecommunications advisor with the Network and Telecommunication teams.
• Provides business areas instruction in the operation and use of telecommunications systems and equipment to promote a thorough understanding of the equipment need to meet their requirements.
• Develop skills and knowledge required to provide advanced support of the company’s telecommunications environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical college degree in industrial electronics (Two to Four Year) – Preferred.
• 3+ years of related work experience.
• Ability to interact with all levels of employees to assist with resolution of technical issues.
• Detailed-oriented with high work standards in support of seamless execution of telecommunications environment support.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills to develop increased ability and knowledge needed to better support the telecommunications infrastructure.
• With guidance act decisively and develop strategic thinking abilities.
• Ability to maintain an atmosphere of collaboration.
• Ability to work as a team member and support others to achieve department and company goals/targets.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of industry and technology trends in support of the company’s telecommunication environment.
• Extensive knowledge of IP networking and TDM (serial) systems.
• Required: RF and Wireless knowledge.
