As a Lumen Network Technician, focused on installation and maintenance you will be responsible for all aspects of cable repair and maintenance both copper and fiber splicing, carrier systems repair and maintenance will be a feature of this position, also including but is not limited to installation and repairs on POTS and DSL services and more.

Network Technician – Cable Maintenance Focus Main Responsibilities
- Reviews and discusses service order requirements and equipment requests with customers, evaluating customers’ telecommunication needs and suggesting additional/alternative service as appropriate.
- Makes splicing rearrangements on existing facilities in buried, underground, aerial, and building work locations.
- Uses hand tools, power tools (air and electric) and specialty tools including electric and electronic measuring devices (e.g. multi-meters, volt-ohm meters).
- Able to accurately locate underground cables and to repair cut cable of all sizes.
- Connects wires and cables to terminals, and attaches/detaches various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, and poles.
- Willingness to occasionally work overtime, evenings, and weekends.
Network Technician – Cable Maintenance Focus Requirements & Preferred Qualifications

- Requires a valid state driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Must be able to legally work in the US.
- Ability to climb ladders, work in utility holes and use hand & power tools.
- Works well with others to achieve common goals and to foster a cooperative climate, as well as works independently in the field with little supervision.
- Preferred at least 12 months experience within the last five years installing, repairing/maintaining, and testing residential/small business telecommunication service (POTS and DSL), including Design Services.
- Preferred at least 6 months of experience within the last five years with GPON/HSI/Access Line installation and repair.
