Network Technician (Device Troubleshooting,Cabling,Call Center Environment)

Our Client, a Fortune-50 telecom, tv, and internet provider, has an opening for a Network Technician.

This is a long-term contract position that is already funded for 2022 and planned for 2023 extension.

Pay range is $20-24.75/hr on W2.

This team is currently remote, however they will eventually return onsite to Circle 75 Pkwy SE Atlanta Georgia 30339. As the role will eventually be onsite, there is a vaccine mandate in place.

Work shifts will be early morning: Monday-Friday 5am-2pm, or 6am-3pm, or 7am-4pm.

The Position:

This is a Technical Call Center type of role helping contractors who are running a rebuild and upgrade for their network

  • These are not random calls but specific contractors calling in for assistance
  • The average is 8 calls a day for 10-20 mins, most are inbound calls
  • Will work on tickets, ensure info is correct, open the tickets, get process going, then close out ticket at end of the day and ensure all the devices that were online at the beginning are online at the end of the day. If not, troubleshoot and point engineers in that direction
  • Look at cable prints in a basic way, use 3-4 different tools, and make educated guesses about devices to troubleshoot
  • Need to proactively ask troubleshooting type of questions over the phone

Skills:

  • Need to be comfortable with MS Excel as a lot of reporting goes on that runs through Excel
  • Call Center type experience: need to understand what it is to be behind the desk taking calls and able to help individuals over the phone.
  • (Hiring manager will also consider candidates who have been field techs who also have phone/call center experience
  • Understand of troubleshooting
  • Should understand Cable with some IT background but it’s really about call Center Environment experience
  • Years of experience: 2+ years
