JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, organizing and directing the client requests for campus voice, data and video services. This position is the point of contact for campus telecommunication services including call center applications, voice mail and phone menus, complex business office telephone configurations, cable TV services and installations, high speed data circuits, voice, data and TV jack installations and costs. This role also provides project telecommunications support on capitol projects and building renovations.

This position is one of a team of four in the department.

$28.40/hr. – $53.88/hr.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

QUALIFICATIONS


Required:

  • Telecom client/customer service experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience with project coordination of multiple projects of varying complexity and scope.
  • Interpersonal and verbal and writing communications skills to communicate effectively to diverse audiences. Ability to interpret and communicate technical information for largely non-technical audience.
  • Knowledge of networking terminology and operation of fiber optic network backbones, switched network services, local area networks, and network operating systems and referring backbone level configuration work to network operations center.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications terminology and applications. Knowledge of communication infrastructure requirements of voice and data terminal equipment.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet TCP/IP networks, network interface cards, network routers, network bridges and network gateways. General understanding of inside wiring schemas and outside cable plant design installation.


Preferred:

  • Experience estimating and providing rate-based estimates.
  • Experience performing cost analysis, accounting and recharge procedures sufficient to assure accurate billing and cost tracking.
  • Experience using technical platforms or software to track and prioritize projects and service requests.
  • Knowledge of POTS/SL-100 and software and hardware related features and their interactions.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Cisco VoIP solutions and configurations.
