Network/Website Administrator

Siltech Corporation, a Canadian-owned Chemical company, is looking to hire immediately a full-time, permanent Network/Website Administrator for our and Mississauga facility. Travel to the Toronto facility as needed,

This is a salaried position with a full Benefits and Pension package.


Principal Duties:

  • Provides support to end-users on a variety of technical incidents
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.
  • Responds to telephone calls, emails, and personnel requests for technical support.
  • Tracks and monitors problems to ensure timely resolution.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • Installs configures and maintains hardware infrastructure such as PCs, servers, peripherals, printers, security tools, etc.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs hardware and network issues.
  • Removes and properly disposes of old equipment.
  • Performs data migrations to new PCs.
  • Patch Management – Evaluates and installs patches including bug fixes and security vulnerabilities.
  • Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and backup procedures.

IT Governance:

  • Liaisons with decision-makers to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization to meet current and future needs.
  • Designs and maintain technology and security standards and policies and ensures adherence
  • Analyzes and provides summary reports to Management regarding system performance, utilization, security, and compliance with policies.

Website:

  • Contributes to meeting the goals and objectives of the company through the design, maintenance, updating, and management of Siltech’s website.
  • Uses a combination of design and technical skills to make the website aesthetically pleasing, functional, interactive, and easily navigable.
  • Works in conjunction with Marketing to ensure that Website content is current, relevant, and dynamic.
  • Makes recommendations regarding design issues, upgrades, and security relating to Internet and Intranet presence.
  • Ensures the Website meets all legislative requirements, including the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and Information and Communications Standard.
  • Analyzes reports on Web activity including the number of hits, and traffic patterns.

Information Security:

  • Responsible for securing data, devices, and networks against unauthorized external and internal access.
  • User Access Management – Creates, modifies, secures, and deletes accounts in accordance with standards and best practices.

Telecommunications: Installs, configures, and maintains telephone and video equipment.

The incumbent will be expected to travel between the 2 locations on an as-needed basis, to deal with any onsite issues.
