Sr. Director, Global Network & Telecoms (New Health Care Company)
3M is establishing two industry-leading companies, creating value through the spin-off of its Health Care business, while 3M will continue to be a global material science leader, focusing our innovation to win in favorable global megatrends and attractive end markets. The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The Sr. Director, Global Network & Telecoms is a key leadership role reporting to the SVP Infrastructure and Operations. The role will provide strategic vision, technical expertise, and leadership to architect, deploy, and manage all aspects of the company’s global network and telecoms technologies. This will include wide-area, data center, campus/corporate networks, and support for our sites and our global remote workforce. This is a critical role with overall technical responsibility and accountability to deliver best-in-class network availability, security, and performance.
The role will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive network strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives. This will entail assessing the current state, completing existing transformation programs, identifying areas of improvement, and designing solutions to enhance the overall security, performance, and cost of the global network. The role will be responsible to lead an experienced and skilled team of networking professionals and will provide mentorship, guidance and ensure the team’s long-term professional development.
You will bring industry thought leadership to drive transformation toward next-generation operational capabilities with a focus on modernizing and automating our technology, capabilities, and cost model to support our business. You will also require a good working knowledge of technologies/toolsets such as; AWS Transit Gateway, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Zscaler, Checkpoint, Teams based voice, Bluecat DDI, Qualys vulnerability Management, OT Network Protection, Tango TEM.
The role is accountable for maintaining strong relationships with vendors, services providers, and managed service partners, negotiating contracts and ensuring the delivery of high-quality network services. The role is responsible to monitor industry trends and identify how emerging technologies may play a role in improving network services. You will be responsible for maintaining a multi-year capital investment plan to ensure our network lifecycle management plan is executed.
The role will require significant experience with large multi-national corporate networks, preferably in a complex M&A environment, and deep expertise across LAN, WLAN, DDI, WAN, Unified Communications, and VPN operating environments. The network is critical to our business operations, with over 100 sites (manufacturing, distribution, and commercial offices) globally.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university
OR
- High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and a minimum of ten (10) years of working experience in IT
- Ten (10) years experience leading a global networking team in a large multinational environment
- Ten (10) years of working in roles that demonstrate experience in network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, routing protocols, firewalls, and associated security technologies
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Experience in multi-year strategic planning and technical roadmap design and implementation

The expected compensation range for this position is $215,577 – $263,483, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
