Job Purpose:
The purpose of the NOC/SOC Technician is to setup, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Advance2000 NOC/SOC Services ranging from physical to logical device infrastructure. It is the responsibility of the NOC Engineer to ensure proper troubleshooting, escalation, and incident resolution from start to finish. Additionally, the NOC Engineer will participate as a Technical Support Specialist, as needed.

Job Description Includes

  • NOC/SOC Duties- Network and Security Operations Alert management and mitigation.
  • Manage and maintain monitoring systems, frequently reporting on the status and performance of monitoring network, ISP services, and facilities
  • Ability to be flexible and adjusting to a changing daily task list based on company direction.
  • Identify and respond to faults in monitoring systems and networks, acting as a liaison with 3rd party suppliers, handling escalation through to resolution
  • Provision IP assignments, core network configurations, DNS setup, monitoring and graphing for colocation, leased lines, customer backup and other customer network services
  • Participate in server build and installs, application upgrades, and network equipment builds and installations
  • Maintain hardware serial audits, writing custom monitoring plugins and configuring graphing for PowerShell, ConnectWise Automate, Nagios Core and XI as well as SolarWinds.
  • Monitor and manage facility systems such as air-conditioning, UPS, generators, power usage, running health and safety and housekeeping checks on monitoring software
  • Responsible for provisioning facility infrastructure including installing racks, setting up power, installing ethernet, fiber and console cabling, and monitoring remote power and KVM
  • Develop knowledge and skills in network and system administration, with regard to the monitoring tool’s architecture and platforms
  • Act as Tier 3 support for co-location, customer backup network, and ISP services
  • Accountable for documenting and reporting all service incidents and outages according to policy
  • Identify incidents and lead troubleshooting activities
  • Maintain understanding of voice and data networks
  • Act as a Technical Support Specialist, as needed
  • TSS1 Level of Technical understanding of Server, Desktop and Mobile Operating systems (Windows/Linux/MAC/iOS/Android)
  • General Explanation of duties but not limited to.

o Answer the Service Desk Hotline during shift hours, achieving 70% first call resolutiono Place tickets and initiate troubleshootingo Troubleshoot and provide first level support for the entire Advance2000 product suiteo Provide remote support for both internal and external serviceso Diagnose and solve data communication problems

This is Monday- Friday 12:am to 8 am
