Job Overview NOC Engineer:
The NOC Engineer works on a team directly supporting our customers and their networks, and serves as an escalation and mentor to our Service Desk. This person is an excellent communicator, works well in a team-based environment, and can manage working on multiple escalated trouble tickets at once while also responding to system generated NOC alerts. This person is experienced in troubleshooting and configuring a wide range of products, from firewalls, routers and switches, to desktops, servers, Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, Office 365, SIEMs, virtualization, and SANs. The NOC Technician is capable of independently troubleshooting and resolving a wide-range of issues in both remote and on-site scenarios. This is primarily an in office position in Warwick, RI, with occasional dispatch to local sites.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Solve complex technical issues within our customer network environments to restore or improve business operations in a timely and accurate manner
- Provide continual updates to customers and internal resources of ongoing progress on service issues
- Respond to Network Operation Center monitoring alerts including, but not limited to, Server alerts, Network alerts, Antivirus alerts, Backup alerts, etc.
- Assist Technicians by serving as a mentor to help them them solve tickets and take ownership of escalated tickets when necessary
- Keep client documentation up to date when changes are made, or new SOPs created
- Takes ownership of tasks and tickets, following through to ensure complete resolution
- Takes personal interest in, and responsibility for, quality of work they perform
- Complete detailed time entries for all work being done on tickets daily.

Skills and Experience
- Expertise in how to install, configure and troubleshoot computer hardware and operating systems
- Expertise in networking, with the ability to pinpoint root cause and remediate majority of network related issues
- Expertise in firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless technology.
- Comfortable with Cisco CLI and ability to work through other languages (Dell, FortiGate, etc).
- Expertise in Windows Server and Active Directory
- Expertise in Azure and Office 365
- Expertise in virtualization and shared storage technologies
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems (GUI and CLI)
- Working knowledge of SQL
- Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations
- Understands that the success of individuals is measured by the success of their teams
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies using self-study materials and intuition
- Ability to articulate technical information clearly and simply to non-technical people
- Is self-motivated and can be self-directed when necessary
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- CCNA, MCSE, or 5+ years engineering experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
