Position Summary:

Our client is currently seeking for a dynamic and experienced 3rd Shift NOC Engineer I to work within their footprint of either Waynesboro, VA; Charlotte, NC; or Columbia, SC.

This position provides in depth support of the SEGRA Networks Transport, IP and Ethernet Networks. The NOC Engineer I will have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within one of the functional areas of the organization, identified in the Skill Discipline Matrix provided below.

What you will be doing:

  • Configure and provision routers, switches, and other associated peripheral equipment for customer networks
  • Configure MPLS router connections for customer turn-ups
  • Assists with implementation of assigned customer network additions, as well as networks of associated companies
  • Perform remote turn-up of services with operations, vendors and customers
  • Remotely assist with field installation and communication deployments as necessary
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve problems affecting network performance that have been escalated and unresolved within the NOC teams
  • Provide technical and analytical support in determining the root cause of network problems and implement action plans to resolve potential or active Network impacting issues
  • Work trouble tickets to find solutions in order to correct customer/network trouble issues and faults
  • Performing installs, verifying successful turn-ups
  • Provide assistance and support to other team member as required during critical outages
  • Troubleshooting post-install troubles

What you will need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required. Vendor certifications preferred but not required (BTI, Cisco, CIena Adtran, Alcatel-Lucent, Fortinet, VeloCloud, etc.)
  • 2-4 years professional level experience or 5+ years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience required
  • Schedule: Wed – Sat 9:30pm to 8:00am

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
