NOC Level 1 Support Engineer (Hybrid)

A services organization in New Jersey is looking to fill an immediate need with the addition of a new NOC Level 1 Support Engineer to their growing staff in a Hybrid position.

**This is a hybrid role requiring the qualified professional to work at least 2 days onsite.**

Responsibilities:

The NOC Level 1 Support Engineer (Hybrid) will:

• Act as the first point of contact for all incidents
• Analyze and report network alerts generated by the monitoring tools
• Open tickets as per defined severities
• Act as first line of contact for all Trouble Ticket issues, maintain the shift log and distribution list
• Create and follow up to change requests, incidents/Break-fixes and perform other scheduled activities within the SLA requirements
• Interface with Carriers, Open tickets track to resolution
• Maintain vendor and visitor contact lists
• Create tickets and coordinate
• Maintain list of inventories of spare parts for network
• Make sure to keep up to date inventory of network infrastructure
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• Technical knowledge and understanding of basic to mid level network design and Cisco IOS commands.
• Experience with various monitoring tools and ability to perform basic troubleshooting of existing network equipment including CISCO and AVAYA
• Relevant experience in NOC/production support environment
• Experience with the following tools: RTTS, XMC, Footprint, etc.
• Experience with platforms: Cisco, Extreme, Avaya, etc.
• Thorough understanding of monitoring tools, such as RTS, SolarWinds
• Thorough understanding of Monitoring Tools, standard operating procedures (SOP), work instructions (WI) and documentation for Network Operations Center (NOC)
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and/or a related field
