NOC Operator / Technician

The position is responsible for Network Monitoring and Trouble Resolution support in a 24x7x365 NOC environment. The candidate will have experience supporting NOC activities, including scheduled and unscheduled outages and will resolve network and service issues. Candidate will also participate in monitoring WAN networks with routers and circuits. Candidate must be willing to work rotating shifts and willing to work as a full-time contractor on a 1099 basis.

This is a remote position but the candidate must have a local commute to the Northern Virginia area.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide global network operations center (NOC) support on a 24X7 basis
  • Monitoring and manage Telecom, Information Technology (IT), and network services
  • Receive trouble calls, resolve problems, and manage trouble ticket resolution and closure process
  • As a single point of contact, coordinate service provisioning and installations
  • Support testing after services provisioning and for customer acceptance
  • Resolves service issues, provide Government with regular status updates, and escalate problem resolution as necessary
  • Prepare and deliver periodic service reports as required by the contract to the customers
  • Maintain customer database with contact info, service parameters, and system configurations

Required Qualifications:

  • CCNA Certification
  • Knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Minimum 2 years’ telecom/IT network support experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting Help Desk, NOC, & Customer Service Center
  • Strong customer interface and problem resolution experience
  • Routers and Internet Protocols experience
  • Associate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel etc…)
  • Being a US Citizen is a definite requirement with minimum of public trust clearance

Education: Associate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience

Security Clearance: Secret Clearance (Preferred)

  • Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls: 2 years (Preferred)

Language:

  • and writes the English language fluently (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • CCNA or higher certification (Preferred)
