NOC Tech Engineer

Principal NOC Engineer/Technician who is energetic, creative and team oriented to work on the development of state-of-the-art management and networking software for SATCOM products used in secure communications. The individual will be part of a team installing and maintaining a telecom testbed.

Responsibilities

• Providing design, operation, and technical end-user support leadership
• Guide team for troubleshooting and resolving network issues.
• Collaborate with suppliers, customers program management in a timely and effective manner
• Collaborate with the team on the development and maintenance of network infrastructure.
• Optimizing server capacity and performance to keep up with demand in network traffic.
• Developing data security processes and tools for routine operations
• Training junior IT staff and providing on-site field technicians with remote technical support.

  Requirements

• BS in engineering related discipline
• Must be able to obtain and hold a US government security clearance.
• 5+ years of experience developing and operating complex technical projects that include networking devices and software components including the following:
• Good understanding of Linux (Cent OS or related flavor) and installation of packages
• Good knowledge of TCP IP
• Good knowledge of computer networking principles with Ethernet and IPv4, v6
• Good knowledge of network security
• General web app testing skills.
• Kubernetes, Containers understanding and use
• Install physical hardware like Dell servers e.g. from CDs, Flash disk, iDRAC.
• Understanding and ability to program/configure telecom and end user devices
• Experience writing technical documents for external customers
• Ability to travel 25-30%

• CISCO Certification
• Scripting knowledge (Python, shell scripts)
• Interpersonal skills
• Effective communication
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
