Global Rights Compliance
OBJECTIVES
Global Rights Compliance (GRC) is seeking a part-time Arabic language OSINT Analyst to join its team for the project titled “Promoting Accountability in Iraq and Syria for Genocide, Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes”.
The focus of the job is to conduct OSINT and SOCMINT research to support international criminal investigations. The position will also assist in providing direct translation support to the project lead/legal advisor (remotely based). This may involve assistance in translation of videos, webpages and text from Arabic to English.
The main goals of the project are to support the documentation and prosecution of crimes committed in the course of the 2014 genocide perpetrated by ISIS against the Yezidi people in Iraqi Kurdistan.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct OSINT and SOCMINT research in English and Arabic in investigations of human rights abuses
- Produce a report of research findings to an evidentiary standard for use in criminal proceedings.
- Translate documents from Arabic to English
QUALIFICATION
The following qualifications are required
- An advanced university degree in a relevant field
- Experience in conducting OSINT investigations and knowledge of methodologies of conducting rigorous, safe, ethical and trauma-informed research.
- Excellent knowledge of OSINT and SOCMINT tools.
- Excellent IT skills including in cybersecurity and operational security.
- Arabic and English fluency (reading, writing, speaking).
- Respect for confidentiality.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
The following qualifications are strongly preferred
- Recognised certification in OSINT/SOCMINT and cybersecurity
- Knowledge of and/or experience working in the Iraqi context;
- Good understanding of non-state armed groups operating in Iraq/Syria
- Experience working in the international context with an international organisation
