Being an OSP Construction Coordinator at PRG is a unique opportunity for the well-versed in outside plant telecommunications, bringing the best parts of the traditional job. Our OSP Coordinators are well-versed in outside plant telecommunications. We run cable fiber and/or coax for both aerial and underground scenarios. In the field, you’ll be asked to perform the following functions:

  • Provide for the timely construction of new cable related facilities by effectively coordinating and/or planning with other departments, utility companies, builders/developers and local governmental authorities.
  • Schedule and direct the construction activities of construction crews to include overseeing construction projects.
  • Administer job site quality inspections, ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards, City and State Codes, and other regulations.
  • Work with leadership to issue projects to subcontractors after assessing their work schedule, availability and area of expertise.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Perform Construction Coordinator activities supporting B2B/Carrier/New Build/Fluidity/Pipeline construction and design team including, but not limited to:

  • Supervise and monitor all construction job assigned to contractors
  • QC job design prior to issuing to contractors to assure job is correct to ATS spec
  • Provide materials list for all project types
  • Monitor status of construction jobs to ensure intervals are met
  • Perform quality control (QC) on completed jobs and verify as-builds
  • Perform QC on production reports and invoices to confirm proper billing
  • Participates in weekly project update calls for timely updates
  • Maintains updates in Workfront- project tracking application
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience:

  • Must have 3+ years of hands-on experience in cable construction
  • Educated on local area dig laws

Skills and abilities:

  • Strong leadership skills to mentor and influence subcontractors and vendors
  • Customer service acumen to interpret, communicate, and help deliver client needs
  • Impressive ability to organize and prioritize projects
  • Strong understanding of fiber and coax engineering
  • Computer proficiency and Microsoft tools to create, manage, and present data and reporting to various stakeholders and management
  • Strong communication skills and ability to adjust delivery to your audience verbally and in writing
  • Willingness to use your vehicle in the field (mileage reimbursement at the standard federal rate)
  • Interested and able to work overtime occasionally to meet project demands
  • Perform job functions both indoors and outdoors rain or shine
  • Must be able to walk extensively, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 – $36.00 per hour
