As the Outside Plant (OSP) Design Engineer, you’ll focus on the construction and maintenance of plant infrastructure, design, and engineering, as well as providing a route analysis of underground & aerial fiber optic installations.
Reporting to the OSP Operation Manager in this prominent position within the OSP department, you’ll be responsible for creating splice plans for the overall network design, preparing detailed construction drawings, and working closely with construction managers to oversee market status.

You’ll thrive in this role if you’re an effective collaborator who is knowledgeable about accepted engineering practices. To be successful, you’ll need 5 years of telecommunications experience, OSP Engineering experience preferred. You must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel on a regular basis. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with Google Maps/Earth, AutoCAD, ESRI, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of standard practices in Telecommunications
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of construction services, ordering and installation of the following: Fiber, Telco, Coax, and general Aerial/Underground construction supplies.
- Attention to detail is paramount
- Ability to read and interpret legal land descriptions and easement agreements
- Ability to work independently on multifaceted projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to present facts clearly and accurately in graphic form
- Experience working to tight deadlines
- Excellent analytical skills
- Must be able to work overtime as required
Education and Experience:
- 1-5 years of Telecom project management experience preferred
- Knowledge of Telecom construction
- High School diploma
- Associate degree preferred
- Knowledge in CAD, ESRI and Microsoft Office
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
