Airosmith Development is currently seeking a Manager, OSP Engineering Design to join their fast growing Broadband Services team. This position is responsible for executing various functions including reviewing utility poles for attachment viability, providing make ready solutions that meet utility technical and safety standards, working with customer and telecommunication companies to design fiber routes, and maintaining documentation all under the review of a Senior Engineer.
The ideal candidate will have previous Make Ready and/or fiber design experience with an understanding of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and solid computer and communication skills.

Responsibilities, include but are not limited to the following:
- Fiber Optic design, read and interpret utility data and maps.
- Evaluate field conditions and coordinate with rest of team to design fiber routes and installation.
- Make recommendations on existing pole facilities for re-arranging existing pole facilities to accommodate structure access, while maintaining NESC standards and safety guidelines.
- Review field data collected; identify and report failures or missing data.
- Evaluate and design outside plant infrastructure for broadband deployment.
- Maintain knowledge of current underlying technologies and industry practices and regulations.
- Use smartphones, tablets, applications and web-based programs to complete field data collection.
- Self-directed to complete and furnish fielding data as required on a timely basis.
- Perform field surveys, field audits for telecommunications utility subcontractors and construction crews.
- Assist the Sr. Engineer with, data entry, crew scheduling and overall project tracking.
Requirements:
- A valid state driver’s license.
- Some overnight travel is required.
- 3-5 years of proven experience with OSP aerial telecommunication field survey and engineering principals.
- Familiar with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and mapping software including ArcGIS.
- Knowledge of computer programs such as Google Earth, Excel, Word and Visio.
- Ability to identify attachments on utility poles (e.g. Conductors, communication lines, and equipment).
- Ability to read and understand utility maps.
- Engineering or technical background preferred.
- Surveying and field work experience preferred.
- Ability to produce make ready packages from pictures and field notes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce quality reports.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment and follow procedures.
- Work as team member and willing to learn new tasks.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Education:
- AAS degree preferred or 1+ years’ work experience in a related field.
