Job Summary:
Supervises the construction and installation of our broadband networks in Michigan. Serves as a liaison between the company’s engineering firm and the company. Reviews and approves engineering design. Drives budget compliance and ensures on time completion.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Apply technical expertise to manage deliverables on Highline projects
· Perform project functions relating to production coordination, planning, organizing, directing, controlling, financial management, and on assigned projects.
· Manage utility design and coordination activities for major and local utility companies.
· Assist in determining schedules, budgets, and staffing for projects.
· Foster, manage, and ultimately deliver completed permitted projects on time and on budget.
· Assist in performing quality control review of designs and projects concerning preliminary engineering reports, layouts, schematics, plans and specifications, and cost estimations.
· Manage contractors assigned to projects to ensure continual momentum and timely completion of their objectives.
· Coordinate and change priorities as appropriate.
· Work with minimal supervision and perform work at an efficient pace.
· Most work is performed on-site in a professional office environment.
· Collaborate with project team as needed and as appropriate.
· Deliver timely updates to management and other appropriate personnel.
· Special projects as assigned.
· Occasional local day travel may be necessary.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, time management and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of telecommunication construction and engineering practices and principals.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and forms including work orders, staking sheets, and schematics.
- Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Ability to make sound business decisions using experience and available information.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business preferred
· 5 Years of Project Management Experience
· 5 Years of experience in Broadband and Telco Industry
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen (and Random Selections).
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
This position is located in Upper Peninsula area of Michigan.
