GoNetspeed is a small business in TELECOM in Berlin, CT. We are professional and agile.
The Company is looking for someone to do Quality Control for our Fiber to the Home project and all outside plant. This individual should know all aspects of the company’s specs and industry standards in the communication field. They should be familiar with all NESC codes and the Telcordia Bluebook rules and specs. As well as being self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision. Must have a minimum of 5 years in the construction of fiber optic outside plant or similar.
Essential Job Functions:
· Inspection of all new FFB work in progress to make sure it is being built to all necessary specs.
· Make sure all contractors know GNS, NESC, and Telcordia specs and are following them during the complete build process.
· Verify all work has been completed by contractors and or GNS technicians, and redistributed if repair and or maintenance is needed.
· Create and maintain “Standard Operating Procedures” for processes within GNS.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects.
· Conduct OSP checks for all contractors and GNS technicians to ensure that crews are adhering to established standards and safety requirements.
· Analyze plant operations and make recommendations for improvements to outside plant procedures and equipment.
· Maintains and updates all spreadsheets associated with tasks.
· Create and maintain an internal tracking system to ensure corrections are being made in a timely manner.
· Perform all other related duties as assigned by management*

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must communicate well, both verbally and in writing with individuals, both internal and external to the company
- Knowledge of general office procedures, company products, procedures, and services
- Ability to prioritize and completing multiple projects.
- Must be able to analyze and solve problems and perform effective troubleshooting.
- Ability to identify problems and resolutions found in outside plant.
- Will need to perform administrative tasks such as record keeping and documentation with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Word, Excel & Microsoft Outlook
- Willingness to adapt to frequent changes in job responsibilities.
- Ability to locate and correct discrepancies in maps and design.
- Ability to communicate with contractors, coworkers, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
- Knowledge of telecommunications and maintenance requirements and regulations, Telcordia and NESC regulations
- Experience of Fiber Optic equipment, network construction and reading maps and form3s.
- Ability to work in different environments including inside, outside, inclement weather, attic, crawlspaces, new construction, existing work environment and on a ladder.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma. Five years of Fiber optic plant construction or similar experience.

Work is to be performed outside in a variety of weather and on different terrains. There are to be office times as well.

Pay: $65,000.00 – $68,000.00 per year
