The ideal candidate should be able to work remotely from home but be within a reasonable driving distance from one of Clearwave Fiber offices (Atlanta, Savannah, Macon or Valdosta, Georgia or Marion, Il.)
.

They will report to Clearwave Fiber’s Manager of OSP Planning and Engineering Systems.

The position’s primary objective is to support the activities around Planning, Pricing and submitting economical and/or timely transport plans to management for approval. The activities associated with compiling the plan will be researching and finding options for Leasing or IRU fiber, wavelength or lit service from regional and metro carriers. Where were required to build path, meeting Clearwave Fiber economic or timeline objects must determine the most economical and feasible build method.

What you will do:

  • For new FTTH markets identify what transport is required to connect market into the existing CWF network. Coordinate with Network Engineering to build the most economical, timely and feasible plan.
  • Inquire, request and negotiate with regional or metro based dark and lit fiber service to provide transport connectivity into CWF existing network.
  • Determine what Active Site housing is required for the market, HUT or cabinet, coordinate with Facilities to assure handoff for implementation.
  • Provide and update status with PMO (Site Tracker)

Requirements:


What you will you need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with engineering or technology education. Equivalent experience or training may substitute for the education requirement.
  • 10 years – OSP Engineering and/or Planning (with or for a LEC, ILEC or CLEC)
  • Complete and general OSP facilities knowledge, including FTTH (GPON) and Active Ethernet.
  • Working knowledge of Fiber networking platforms and technologies, i.e. Dark Fiber, Wavelength or Layer 2 Ethernet Carrier Services.
  • Oral and written communications of plans or needs with others in Clearwave Fiber (See Interactions)
  • Works with at end-user level MS-Office products (Excel, Visio, Power Point and Word) and environments.
  • Requires strong interpersonal skills through working with x-departmental departments daily
  • Clearwave Fiber will provide PC equipment to adequately perform this job remotely, candidate if working remotely will be responsible for adequate internet connection (10Mb/10Mb).
