RJE Telecom, LLC, a dynamic, cutting edge telecommunications engineering firm, is seeking an experienced Outside Plant (OSP) Telecommunications Engineer for the Maryland/Virginia area. The OSP Telecommunications Engineer is responsible for the design, field notes, pricing and drafting of both copper and fiber facilities. Prior Verizon experience is preferred.

What you’ll do…
  • Engineering routine and specific outside plant work orders utilizing any combination of aerial, buried or underground cable
  • Fiber optic cable engineering
  • You will visit customer sites to gather OSP site survey information, evaluate customer requirements.
  • You will have daily engagement with customer’s engineering team and project management staff via emails / phone as well as occasional in-person meetings
  • You will maintain safe working habits and conditions according to regulations and policies

Qualifications:

  • You have strong engineering skills
  • You have outside plant design for business-as-usual (BAU)
  • You have experience with Copper and Fiber design of Telecommunications Plant
  • You have knowledge of obtaining permits
  • You are familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
  • You have effective communication skills
  • You have a High School Diploma or GED
  • You have a valid driver’s license
  • You are able to travel and work extended hours; overtime and weekends as needed
  • You have reliable transportation and a clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications: Auto CAD, IDDS, ICGS and/or VBuild Experience
