Job Description:

The client has a number of high business value projects that require additional support to complete. The business value of this work is to support the timely launch of the key IT projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

Under direction of IT Facilities Manager, Program Manager or Director, oversees and manages IT tasks for all assigned projects and other project support. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring project goals and objectives are met within the agreed upon time, scope and budget. This resource will oversee the planning, scheduling, budget and coordination of all IT-related work for the projects.

Responsibilities will include:

creating and managing an overall project schedule, developing detailed task plans, resource alignment, reporting on critical milestones, managing issues and risks, communicating project status and progress with key stakeholders, developing, baselining, managing and reporting on project budget, and keeping high level project information updated in the IT PMO project portfolio and Weekly Activity Report, on a regular basis.

This position requires facilitation of work across multiple IT groups and is considered the single point of contact for IT activities on the projects, as assigned. This position is also responsible for defining IT infrastructure requirements, procurement, tracking and delivery of products and services associated with all IT components of the project; organizing infrastructure work Plans, following internal IT processes, oversight of implementation work and ensuring team members are charging time and materials appropriately. Position requires experience with IT Infrastructure, such as Network, Telecom, Desktop and Audio/Visual, and experience with Nurse Call, Clinical Engineering and Clinical Applications. Prior IT Facilities Planning, Design and Construction experience in all phases, from Plan & Organize, through Schematic and Detailed Design (including work with Architects and Floor Plans), Implementation and Execution is required. Previous Healthcare experience required.
The Consultant will collaborate with key stakeholders, resource managers, end users and project team members throughout project phases of analysis, design, build, testing and implementation.

What the job IS: Besides excellent PM skills (budgeting, scheduling, team building, communication, general project management), the specialized experience needed include:

1. IT project management experience in having managed all of the IT aspects of construction projects in a clinical environment (new buildings, hospital expansions, new clinics, renovations and moves).

2. End to end project management including documenting IT requirements, design, budgeting, purchasing, vendor management (IT resources) deployment, go-live implementations and project closure.

3. A working knowledge of how IT systems, such as Nurse Call, bio-metrics and monitoring systems, anesthesia systems, computers, printers scanners, AV, telephones, etc., function in a clinical environment such as ORs, patient rooms, labs, pharmacies, etc.

4. Understanding of how these devices are put on the data network, purchasing, tracking and overseeing deployment and implementation of the devices to meet end user needs.

Additional Skills

Required Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science OR equivalent combination of education/experience that demonstrates competency. A minimum of ten (10) years IT project leadership experience using proven methodologies for infrastructure and applications projects. A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing large programs or project portfolios including budgets and resources. In-depth knowledge and extensive practical experience with project management methodologies including PMBOK and Waterfall methodologies. Experience representing PMO or IT Department management in meetings with executive-level project or program stakeholders
