The GO Expansion scope : new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

Objective

Alstom is seeking a Power Supply (POS) Project Manager. This individual will contribute to successful Project execution on POS sub-system scope of work.

Responsibilities

Apply Project Strategy according to defined contractual and Project commitments and targets, as allocated on POS sub-system

Alert in case of deviations impacting project objectives; actively contribute to risks and opportunity management

Lead and coordinate sub-system activities and stakeholders, from requirement capture/analysis to the end of project contractual obligations limited to the POS sub-system scope of work:

Achieve QCDP objectives of its sub-system

Plan, monitor, control and manage POS sub-system end-to-end activities (scope, schedule, resources, cost, risks, saving, opportunities)

Manage interface with project-level team members & internal stakeholders, and ask if necessary, for Head of Electrification arbitration

As WP leader of POS Subsystem Work Package, QCDP accountable for all the activities of the WP

Be part of subsystem strategy definition in line with contract requirements, including PMP elaboration and objectives allocation to the team (planning, cost, quality, performance)

Lead and coordinate POS subsystem activities and stakeholders from transfer to close-out including:

Definition of POS Subsystem objectives and main drivers (product/service performance, planning) to achieve customer satisfaction in the frame of the Contract

Resources management:
Escalate when project resources available do not match the project needs

Team leading, including Core Team and when applicable Managers of internal and external partners:

Make sure that key project stakeholders are aligned towards project/ goals

Engage Subsystem team in the successful achievement of project objectives and strengthen relationships among them

Alignment with contractual requirements and management of variation orders at subsystem level

Follow Q, C, D, P established baseline and change management at subsystem level

Manage claim and litigations if needed

Proactive risk, saving and opportunity management

Management of the project progress and its KPIs, and reports to senior management, with transparency during the regular project reviews

He/She is the representative of the subsytem towards Project management

Ensuring compliance with applicable rules, instructions and standards: Code of Ethics & Compliance, EHS, Railway Safety, Quality, Project Management Manual

The POS team is mainly composed of on-shore located in Toronto, Canada, and off-shore part located in St-Ouen, France.

Reporting

This position will report to the Head of ELEctrification and will manage a team of up to ten.

The candidate will liaise with:
Engineering: Central Engineering and Transverse Engineering team

Project: Project management team

Site: Construction management team

Customer, Consultants, External stakeholders

Civil Works and Track works partners

Energy provider Hydro

Interfacing sub-systems (Rolling Stock, Trackwork, OCS, Signalling, Civil works)

Regional Centers

Performance Measurements

On-time delivering: 100%

Respect of allocated WPs: 100%

Respect of Design for Quality (DFQ) milestones: 100% Go On Time, in accordance with the standards or rules of their Metier

Respect of performances of the system provided: 100%

IFR project targets, if applicable

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:
Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or scientific subjects

Professional Engineer designation as per Canadian regulations

Desirable:
Master’s Degree in Business Administration and/ or

Master’s Degree in Project Management

Experience

A minimum of ten years of experience in electrical/electrification project management

A first experience in Hydro projects is preferred

Project management skills
