JOB INFO

As the PLT you are expected to be engaged in our safety program, executing work in a safe manner, in adherence with CANA policies and all applicable code regulations and the Act.

This position entails physically demanding motions and tasks.

The work requires commuting to different sites in and around the Calgary area.

With projects across Western Canada, travel and shift work may be required.

CANA Energy operates year-round and outdoors in all types of terrain and environments.

The work is in electrical construction, maintenance, repair and testing of energized and de-energized distribution and transmission systems.

May be on underground or overhead facilities.

YOU WILL

Install, maintain and repair of both overhead and underground electrical distribution and transmission systems. This will include wood and steel structures, insulators, conductors lightning arrestors, switches, transformers and other associated equipment.

Installation and use of protective grounds, switchgear and switching procedures, aerial and hydraulic equipment, climbing of poles, testing methods, automation components and working from heights and/or in manholes and vaults.

Wire installation including stringing, splicing, terminating, re-conductoring and related wiring to connect power distribution and transmission networks.

YOU WILL NEED

Valid Journeyman Power Lineman Certificate and/or Interprovincial Red Seal.

Knowledge of the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground cable installations.

Reliable transportation to commute to various job sites

A successful Pre-Employment Assessment that includes screening for Drug & Alcohol and the ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly

NICE TO HAVE

Experience in rubber glove live work

Equipment and RBD operating experience

Class 3 or 1 license
