Job Title: Network Engineer
Location: Hollywood, FL
Compensation: $85,000-$95,000 plus 10-15% bonus
Target Candidate: We are targeting someone who has 8+ years of experience working as a Network Engineer in a fast paced environment. We need someone who has a strong background with firewalls (checkpoints on firewalls), switching, routers, and wireless. Preferred would have their CCNA or CCNP and some formal education but willing to overlook for experience.

Job Description
The Network Engineer provides technical support and is responsible for setting up computer networks, maintaining them, and offering technical support to users where necessary. This position will perform hands-on installation and maintenance tasks on network components such as routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and cables. This role is responsible for planning, implementing, administering, and auditing computer networks that support data, voice, video and wireless network services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works on complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various factors.
- Under general direction, participates in the purchase, installation, and support of network communications, including LAN/WAN systems.
- Plan large scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost analysis.
- Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards as internally developed.
- Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
- Secures network system by establishing and enforcing IT Corporate Governance policies; defining and monitoring access.
- Responsible for ALL telecom and data wiring infrastructure and service.
- Creates and maintains all Network related documentation.
- Creates networking standard operating procedures for both Infrastructure and the Support Center.
- Respond to all incidents, problems, requests and electronic contacts (e.g. Phone calls, Emails, Web requests, etc.) within the established Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
- Monitor and track incident, problems and requests to ensure progress and accurate resolution.
- Work with other IT areas in order to maximize incident, problem, request resolution and meet SLA’s.
- Perform root cause analysis and develop new resolutions to frequently occurring incidents and problems.
- Contribute to Knowledge Base in order to aid the troubleshooting process and to avoid future incident/problem re-occurrence.
- Ensures constant follow-up is established with team members until issue is resolved or request is completed.
- Document incidents/problems and requests with accurate and detail description.
- Cross-train Team Members in order to provide better incident/problem resolution.
- Provides constant follow-up on assignment and Email queues.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects.
- Responsible for keeping management informed via weekly status reports.
EDUCATION:
- Associates Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have a minimum of five years of hands on experience in a fast paced and dynamic technical support environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) required.
- Check Point Certified Admin (CCSA) preferred.
- MCSE or equivalent a plus.
Computer Skills:
- Expert knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, networks, and applications.
- Cisco Router Platforms.
- Cisco L2/L3/Data Center Switching Platforms.
- Cisco Security Platforms: Cisco ISE.
- Cisco Meraki Wireless Platform.
- Cisco VoIP Platforms: Call Manager, Unity Connection, IM & Presence, Expressway, and Webex
- Check Point, Palo Alto, Sonicwall firewalls
- Barracuda Load Balancers
- Citrix ADC (NetScaler ADC)
- LiveAction Network Monitor and Kiwi tools
- Software: Microsoft Windows Server, Linux Operating Systems, and Cisco CLI.
