BNPL Product Manager – Developer Portal (m/f/d)

Work from Amsterdam, Stockholm, Berlin or any of our other locations within Europe

We develop payment products that help our merchants and partners to grow and scale their business and at the same time provide the consumers with flexible and easy financial services that they can rely on. We strive for making shopping guilt-free financially and environmentally.

While BNPL is gaining popularity with users, and is expected to make up 30% of all payments made by 2025, we also need to ensure it is always as simple and fast as possible for our partners and merchants to make our payment methods available. For that its crucial to have their developers easily find, understand and implement our technical solutions – regardless which market or service they are integrating. You will be responsible for the complete Developer Portal experience across our entire ecosystem, including payment methods, subscription and accounting services.

We empower our product teams to solve hard problems of our users – consumer problems and merchant problems – in ways that users love yet contribute to our business. Our product teams are cross-functional, comprising alongside product managers, experience designers, data analysts, engineers and in this case technical writers.

Your key responsibilities:

• You create, extend, and maintain a valuable and viable core product. At the same time, you are the connection between business, user experience, technology and operations.
• You focus on making it easy and intuitive to integrate to our services while unleashing the full power of our products in coordination with all our product managers.
• You conceptualize and with your team create tutorials, self-explaining documentation and provide state of the art collections of integration possibilities (we use Postman), and provide sandbox capabilities – making sure it’s just simple to start and expand for our partners and merchants.
• You are the driver of the complete value creation process from ideation, consumer insights gathering to feature development and run.
• You conduct market research and are always up to date regarding market, technology and competition and the respective implications for the product.
• You own the product definition. Understanding the developers’ problems and needs will help you find the best product solution or feature. In addition, you will evaluate new features based on the business potential and technical platform scalability.
• You take care of product training courses and the respective documents.
• Your internal and external network helps you successfully introduce new products and features that matter – as you are also responsible for the product adoption.

Your profile:

• A (computer) science, math, or arts degree
• You concisely communicate complex concepts, and are as excited about conversion rate optimization, financial correctness as well as beautiful product UX and API design
• Agile thinker with a good understanding of modern product development and delivery
• Commercial mindset – understanding the ways our products impact a client’s P&L, as well as the commercial drivers of AfterPay’s business
• An intrinsically driven person who takes ownership and turns initiatives into results
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• You are fluent in English; German or Dutch is a plus
• Willingness to travel (international) when necessary and possible
