Job purpose
The Demand and Delivery Management team (DDM) provides the governance and delivery of programs and projects as a service across the Liberty Global organisation. As part of this organisation, this role is expected to:

Manage the end to end product delivery lifecycle from approval through design, development, integration, test, deployment and into operations in countries. Either for one more larger programs.

Provide leadership for these programs through formal governance roles, e.g. on steering committees, and by building and maintaining trusted relationships with stakeholders in the assigned domain of these programs across the global organisation (Central and Country entities)

Support the DDM and Liberty Global management team as needed

Deputise DDM management when needed
-
Motivate a team of highly skilled & knowledgeable internal/external Project managers and the members of the delivery team who are not controlled by DDM (other project managers, technical experts, etc.)
Key Accountabilities
Delivery Life Cycle Management
-
Program manage one or more programs within the assigned domain
-
Ensure that appropriate targets and milestone dates are set for the speed and quality of delivery and manage the lifecycle activities to achieve those targets
-
Manage assigned projects from approval through design, development, integration, test, deployment and into operations in countries or assigned work-streams within large and complex programs; the role played in each project vary, ranging from full project lifecycle management to delivering specific work streams into larger projects and will not always include technical related delivery management (co-ordination of development, integration and test activities)

Manage sponsor groups up to MD level (accurate and timely reporting of project status, issues/risks/mitigation actions, resource and financials monitoring)

Operate and comply with Liberty Global’s governance processes

Completion of deliverables required for each “Gate Approval”

Manage Change requests – including impact on time, budget, and quality

Timely updates of status, changes and other data on to the systems used for reporting and tracking
Delivery Management (for one or more large programs

Act as delivery manager for assigned projects within the assigned domain(s)

Project management, tracking and reporting

Vendor Management – creates and manages straightforward commercials e.g. vendor statements of work, and manages delivery of work packages;

Relationship Management

Develop and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders, including: VPs & MDs in relevant domains; VP’s & MDs responsible for the technical teams that staff programs; members of country management teams; Liberty Global Senior Management; Vendors
Preferred education/ qualifications:
-
Preferred certification from a recognised professional body e.g. APM, PMI, IPMA
Knowledge & Experience:
-
Significant experience in delivery of technical products in the telecommunications, cable, and/or media industries
-
Particular emphasis is placed on experience in and knowledge of the assigned domain, together with experience of the end-to-end product lifecycle, in addition to technical delivery. This experience could have been gained in technical, operational, product management, and/or delivery roles

A deep understanding and first-hand experience of traditional waterfall and agile project management methodologies used in the industry e.g. PRINCE2, Scrum

Domain skills. This role requires several years of experience of working on products and programs in the assigned domain. Knowledge of the operating models, technical architectures, and solution components used in the major markets of the telco/media/cable industry globally is required

The products are aligned to Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) so any experience in this field would be highly desirable
Skills & Abilities:

Delivery Management skills. Comprehensive and strong skills in project and program management.

Ability to keep teams focused on delivery outcomes in order to meet deadlines with quality

Strong enough commercial skills and experience to be able to develop and challenge costs and benefits in business cases

Budget Management (€5m+)

Self-motivated and proactive in the working environment

Demonstrates the gravitas and courage needed to build relationships and convey authority in order to resolve conflicts and maintain direction

Vendor selection and management. Shows experience and skills in selection of vendors, developing risk based commercial frameworks, managing and monitoring vendors, and vendor relationship management

Good resource management, financial management, and budget management skills
-
At ease and effective in operating in an international working environment
-
Fluent English speaker, ideally with other European languages
-
Effective written and verbal communication skills are needed, as well as experience in communicating, persuading, and influencing at senior stakeholder level
