About the job:
Red Hat’s Portfolio Life cycle Management organization is dedicated to delivering a unified strategy across the Red Hat portfolio that amplifies customer feedback and drives an improved product experience. We are seeking a Program Manager to join our program management team. In this role, you will be an integral part of an engineering team responsible for planning, developing, testing, and releasing cross-product software solutions focused on Telecommunications capabilities and management. You’ll work with geographically dispersed engineering teams focusing on different projects, and coordinate their project deliverables and schedules. You’ll also develop and nurture key relationships with leaders across product management, development and quality engineering and additional functional organizations across the company to focus on a unifying solution-oriented goal. We’ll need you to have expertise in program management and a passion and acuity to understand the requirements and business drivers for a variety of Red Hat’s products and technologies, and use this to facilitate collaboration. What you will do:
- Successfully manage and coordinate complex, multi-phased programs by guiding cross-functional teams to define, scope, plan, and deliver high-quality software
- Oversee all aspects of new and existing programs or projects from start to finish
- Develop and maintain the master plan, schedule, and status for multiple solution releases, in coordination with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across the company
- Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, while fostering an environment of collaboration, trust, and accountability within and across departments
- Coordinate and facilitate recurring meetings to ensure all teams have aligned goals and are executing the plan
- Proactively identify risks, changes, issues, and problems in software engineering processes and develop detailed recovery, mitigation, and scaling plans
- Identify and track cross-product dependencies
- Ability to have a detail-oriented approach to tracking and executing program requirements
- Instill a culture of continuous improvement for team processes, behaviors, best practices and tool usage to best align team goals with company strategy
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 5+ years of experience delivering software services or offerings
- Ability to work and effectively lead a fast-paced, cross-functional, global and hybrid work environment
- Experience with multiple software development and project management methodologies, tools, requirements management, and defect tracking systems
The following are considered a plus:
- Hands-on expertise with open source software, communities and Linux
- Experience and understanding of deployment, orchestration and support technologies and models across physical, virtual, public cloud and edge environments
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification or other relevant industry certifications
