Overview: The Project Coordinator manages smaller projects or assists Project Manager in their engagements. This position exists to effectively initiate, plan, execute, control and close projects assigned. This position ensures the proper oversight and management of all aspects of assigned projects including planning, scope, time, cost, quality, staff resources, communications, risk, maintaining quality standards, controlling expenses, and following company and business unit directives and practices. This position is 90% remote with up to 10% by car or plane to attend meetings or trainings.
Essential Functions
1. Actively manage or assist Project Managers in the management of scope, schedule, and budget for project engagements with minimal supervision.
2. Maintain or assist Project Managers with project budget, time and expense tracking, client billing, invoice tracking and revenue recognition.
3. Works with appropriate internal team(s) and external customer(s) to develop project plans that include cost, work schedule, and any related risks. Serve as the primary or secondary contact for all project related matters. Manage or assist the Project Manager with the project from initiation to close.
4. Assign schedules, monitor project work to ensure that progress is within expected guidelines, and completed on time and within budget by tracking financials, managing resources, and utilizing or creating reporting tools.
5. Identifies, tracks, monitors, and communicates project related issues, scope changes, variances and contingencies as they arise during project cycle. Facilitates amicable solutions. 6. Follows defined PMO processes, procedures, & guidelines.
7. Initiates communications and collaboration with clients, senior management, project team members and stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
8. Prepares project reports for management, clients, and others as requested including creating ad-hoc reports and regularly scheduled project reports.
9. Manage one (1) or more simultaneous projects for smaller projects with project values ranging from several thousand to $500,000 monthly revenue.
10. Manage projects in tandem with operations (OSP Manager) with a number of resources ranging from 1-50+.
Education and Experience Requirements Required:
• High School Diploma or GED. • Ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities. • Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office Suite of Products, specifically excel functions and formulas. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to effectively utilize PowerBi, Project Management software, Wrike, SharePoint. Preferred: • Associates or Bachelor’s degree. • Management/project management experience. • Have obtained or willing to obtain CAPM or PMP certification. • Telecom or Construction industry experience. • Experience in various Project Management methodologies.
