As a Project Manager, with previous Telecom experience, you will work remotely with a close team of experienced operations professionals to deliver fibre internet products throughout Manitoba. As a Project Manager, here’s what you’ll do:
1. Project Coordination
– Organizing quotation requests, quotation analysis in terms of awarding construction contracts as applicable.
– Complete or otherwise direct the production and or development of electronic drawings and specifications for the construction of assigned project(s), including services and network system expansion / upgrades, as applicable and/or determine requirement for external resources, provide direction and coordinate external consultants in the preparation of necessary plans for construction as applicable.
– Coordinate and direct engineering, material delivery, construction and implementation of all construction activity, coordinating projects to meet determined deadlines, costs, quality of drawings and their integrity to current standards and applicable construction laws.
– Apply for and manage all required third party permits/consents and permissions.
2. Project Management
– Ensure new POP / Hub sites are constructed to company standards and look after ongoing service and maintenance.
– Ensure required materials and labour is available as required and supervise/inspect contractors.
– Respond to physical plant field emergencies and coordinate activity to facilitate the repair / reconstruction or restoration.
3. Compliance and Communication
– Keep customers and other FlexNetworks staff updated on status of projects.
– Observe contractors’ methods of installation to ensure compliance with work instructions / engineering directives, industry / legislative regulations to include though not limited to U/G construction, aerial construction. Complete ESA or provincial inspection standards as required and comply with safety legislation.
– Review / Approve contractor invoicing.
– Ensure all “as Constructed” drawings are accurate prior to submission to GIS / records.

Requirements
– College diploma as a Certified Engineering Technician or Technologist.
– Minimum 5 years work experience to include the design and installation of premises, aerial, underground and buried fiber application disciplines.
– Holds and maintains a valid Canadian driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
– Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is an asset.
– Previous experience as a telecommunications technician is an asset.
