Description:

Fiber Network Services (FNS) is a turn key vendor that support OSP and ISP construction for Telecommunication efforts. They are a large General Contractor that supports the MD, DC, VA, and WV market with recent expansion to NJ and Vermont. The major of their business and relative to the Cable TV industry and support customers such as Comcast, Cox communications, and Crown Castle. Fiber Network Services is looking for an experienced project manager to support their OSP telecommunications construction efforts not limited to Commercial (Metro E and SMB) and Residential (Multiple Dwelling Units), SDU (Single Dwelling Unit) jobs. This will be mainly supporting Cable TV and Comcast. The project manager will be involved with Strategic oversight of Cable TV expansions for a few major clients. They will have a team of construction coordinators that report to them who are in charge of the day to day and providing various updates. The PM’s role is more client facing, looking at current processes to gain efficiencies, etc. These will be turn key projects so they will be responsible for overseeing a team of Construction Managers and technicians. The Project Manager should have previous experience with Site Surveys, Site Walks, creating and validating BOM’s, approving line items, set expectations with end clients, coordinating construction with various crews, performing QC, and working project through close out to validate As-builts, and overseeing the over all budget of projects. They really need to be comfortable creating accurate timelines after assessing projects, getting the work done efficiently, correctly, and under budget. The main objective for this candidate will be to help take on the additional growth of the Manassas region and run a portion of the office as if it was their own business. Experience working across Design, Permitting, and Construction is a plus. But they do have an in-house permitting team. Need to have great internal and external communication abilities.

This person needs to be motivated and have the ability to take initiative. They will have a strong support system and need to know when to escalate issues to higher managers. Also in charge of raising awareness around vendors performance. Tons of collaboration internally and externally. • Providing updates and QC report tracking • Reporting to client and the Operations Manager weekly • Tracking in excel • Assessing project defining scope find bill of materials approve line items • Engaging in accurate timelines • Working with contractors and in house construction teams • Be able to change digital to as-builds There will be OT opportunities and some on-call responsibilities • On call responsibilities will be helping to mitigate risk with outages. They will need to make sure the Construction Coordinators are working quickly to assure crews are responding in a timely manner.
