Axis Fiber Solutions is a telecommunications construction company based in Greenwood, Indiana. We provide our customers with turn key construction of fiber networks by way of directional boring, plowing, direct bury or aerial placement as well as residential and commercial fiber installation. Our construction projects consist of small runs of drop fiber, medium to large cellular site underground construction to large scale infrastructure builds including neighborhoods or cities.
Project Manager Job Summary
Axis Fiber Solutions is seeking an experienced project manager to join our growing organization. This professional will be responsible for overseeing multiple crews on a project at once and serving as the representative at each worksite in dealings with customers, subcontractors and employees. Responsibilities include scheduling crews portions of the project, tracking progress of the project, submitting progress reports to Director for invoicing and holding workforce accountable. He or she must be self-motivated, organized, strategic, creative, decisive, responsive and able communicate professionally and problem solve. With each project, this individual is counted on to provide the customer with outstanding and professional completion of projects exceeding customer expectations by delegating responsibilities to employees and subcontractors.
Construction Manager Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans, coordinates, organizes, oversees, and directs activities regarding the completion of customers projects
- Ensures safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in construction
- Manages a staff, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management; develop supervisory goals and objectives; and effective resolution of safety issues
- Oversee and provide direction to subcontractors and employees
- Manage projects schedule as well as employee schedule and time
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with a variety of people, including customers, owners, peers and subordinates
- Manage and lead actions that are necessary due to delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites
- Attend coordination and progress meetings; make regular trips to sites during construction including bid walks, preconstruction walks, in-progress site visits, punch walks, and construction closeout
- Conduct and document quality assurance and safety inspections throughout the construction process, assuring working environment is maintained at acceptable levels, and tools and equipment are in good working condition
- Provide customers with acceptable project updates, photos and as-built documentation upon completion
- Submit weekly reports and documentation to appropriate individuals for billing
- Respond to work delays, emergencies and other project disruptions
- Lead weekly meetings with employees and or subcontractors discussing topics such as workload, scheduling, deadlines, safety etc.
Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to problem solve, make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays
- Proven experience in a leadership capacity
- Ability to manage time and be efficient
- English and Spanish fluency a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
