Project Manager (Consultancy)

The opportunity

Project: Programme and project managers – telecom will provide the focal point for all of Mace’s telecom related commissions, long term strategy and business development. The sector responsibility will focus on the UK and Irish sectors as well as support for any other Mace global telecom related projects. The role will have direct responsibility for managing the successful delivery of all programs and projects to meet the agreed objectives, on time, to budget and quality. The programme and project managers will manage all internal and external project teams to meet these objectives and will work with the agreed framework and within a structured methodology.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the project planning, build and delivery of a robust network to the agreed specifications.

• Responsible for the end to end project planning and accountable for leading the project end to end from opportunity assessment through to project closure.

• Ensuring that the project produces the required deliverables to the agreed standard of quality and within the specified constraints of cost, risk, time and benefit related to the broader client.

• Implementing and maintaining a consistent project management methodology and governance, including implementation and embedding of robust programme controls.

• Ensuring the build partner is carrying out appropriate levels of project planning, following client planning standards.

• Carrying out analysis on the project plan and challenges the build partner plans if they are not appropriately underpinned.

• Monitoring the programme and projects against milestones and targets and providing status updates to stakeholders.

• Managing all aspects of risk, issues and contingency.

• Identifying and managing dependencies with other aspects of the business.

• Working with build partners to ensure issues and risks are escalated appropriately. Managing escalations or escalating to the senior project manager.

• Assuring closure of programmes and projects are agreed by all parties before sign off.

• Developing and delivering collaborative relationships with contractors including project planning, forecasting, demand and resource planning.

• Embedding continuous improvement across the programme and working with Partners to drive efficiency of delivery and technical innovation working the technical services.

• Developing an effective working relationship with internal and external customers and local authorities and own complaints and resolution for the regions regarding build delivery works and provide an escalation route for any major customer or LA issues.

You have demonstrable experience of project management in a multi-disciplined and commercial environment along with previous experience in telecommunications and/or infrastructure companies. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
